We established Acumen Training and Development Ltd in response to the need for quality based cost effective training that allows a true partnership with companies and individuals, we create models of excellence for all of our services.  We operate with these core values enabling us to offer realistic, pragmatic solutions to a wide range of business clients and private individuals.

Irrespective of the size of an organisation or enterprise all need cost effective solutions to their development and consultancy requirements, one way in which control overhead costs is by the use of associate professionals.
We have qualified and experienced tutors who are employed by the associate group, and in addition we have a bank of tutors who we can contract to deliver training under the Acumen brand.

In addition to bespoke training materials and indeed materials we develop specific to client requirements we have an ever increasing portfolio of accredited training materials, in particular the tutor materials from the Charted Institute of Environmental Health and Highfield Publications. 

To ensure we remain constantly aware of new developments the Principle Associates maintain memberships with the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and the
Chartered Management Institute.

A: As you read through our web site you will find extensive listings of the learning that we provide, but we are best known for food safety training and health and safety training.

 

Q: I have noticed you also mention Stress Awareness training?

A: Well yes, stress is part of health and safety in the workplace.

 

Q: I also read on your course list about ‘food management systems’?

A: Yes, one of the most commonly known systems is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points or HACCP.

 

Q: Why food safety and health and safety why not just choose one and be specialists?

A: We consider Acumen to be specialists for training and development in both areas, which allows to provide integrated solutions in many instances.

 

Q: One of your advisers mentioned that you also undertake development training, what do you mean by development training?

A: In addition to all of the various safety training that we provide, we also offer courses in management skills and ‘soft skills’ training, in particular relating to communication skills.

 

Q: Where do you delivery your training courses?

A: Almost anywhere! We deliver in company, or if that is not appropriate or when we are running an open course we hire purpose designed conference rooms at the most convenient locations.
